• Unfortunately this ignores all teamed adapters so they're not listed when you run the commandlet.

  • Hello, I have a same issue as Rob. What does apply as a VPN server? The appliance that the clients are connecting to outside the organization? In my case I have a network router, however how do I apply that to Active directory security group? Should I just request certificate from the router using the VPN template?

  • If you encrypt all usb drives, is there a way to exclude certain usb drives based on vendor/product ID so that a specif type don't get encrypted?

  • Hey sorry I know this article is three years old, but I don't think the second code example has been modified as you say it have. It sure looks like the remove-widget function is still taking in the whole pscustomobject, and not just the $Path attribute like it is in the final code block. Am I reading this wrong?

  • There's another group policy setting to allow downloading from Windows Update sources. Under Administrative Templates => System => Specify settings for option component installation and component repair, there are two settings:

"Never attempt to download payload from Windows Update" - Set to Disabled
"Download repair content and optional features directly from Windows Update instead of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) - Set to Enabled

  • Hi Leos, U have summarised everything perfectly in yout post here of making Windows 11 work offline. Please note My point is not regarding how and where organizations store their data , it is just a reminder which emphasises what artodeto has mentioned in his reply to your post of sticking to Windows 10 as long as possible, All I am trying to say to further support his point is Organizations have many reasons to continue to stick to their own Data centres as opposed to moving to cloud.

  • Hi All, I have a question always regarding Cloud computing. Many Organizations worldwide have very strict Data privacy related concerns, so how will they move onto Cloud and trust any XYZ Cloud provider with all their data. I have always asked this question but never got any convincing reply. Some people say such companies can go for a hybrid approach where they can choose what to keep on cloud and what not to keep on cloud. I dont know, looks like some companies who have husge investments in Data centers, will still try and hold on to their own Databases and Servers. These are just my thoughts, please correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks

  • Neat trick, Leos. I will have to remember it if and when I go to Windows 11.
    Thanks.

  • Microsoft is trying to push you in their cloud so hard. We will try to stick to Windows 10 as long as possible.

So strange that the operation system that is powering the internet aka Linux is now the one offering you an offline installation.

  • Thanks Vladan, Appreciate your inputs. I will be in touch. will I be able to test this out in a cloud environment or can I mimic something like this by creating two VMS from my home based Windows PC and then trying it out ? Thanks a lot.

  • Hi there, We have a requirement where in we would like to make use of SQL Server Clustering for SQL Server 2017/2019 without using Windows Clusters and a Shared Storage that it offers. Is this possible using VMware?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Thanks for this. I plan to use this along with task scheduler to download a fresh file every week. However, the new file overwrites the older one. Is there a way to preserve the older file as well?

    Regards.

  • Was so much easier to remove it when it was a separate protocol stack and not part of the tcp/ip configuration. I wonder if there are any drawbacks to still running IPX today?

  • Thanks for the interesting article.
Maybe a useful follow-up article would be tools to do a network audit on what is using NetBIOS.

    Thanks

  • I didnt see a response to this question above:
if macro is digitally signed by our certificate (issued from internal CA), the macros are enabled automatically.
Also if the above is possible can all the rest macros be disabled except digitally signed (issued from internal CA)?
