- Bio in IT
I started doing tech support during the mid 80’s at Quark (of QuarkXPress) I also worked for 14 years at The Denver Post supporting Mac and Windows pc’s. Now I’ve been promoted to System Administrator ( a big jump in responsibilities) at Auraria Higher Education Center in Denver, CO. Suddenly I find myself responsible for ESXi and VMWare servers, AD and several other systems. I’m also making recommendations for security. I had (strongly) advocated for LAPS since we used it at another job. That led me to this site. I’m working with how to best set up complete test environments. I think vSphere 6.5 has a sandbox feature I want to explore. Also looking I am forward to upgrading an ancient analog phone system but I have consultants to back me up (thank God!) This site seems like a good resource so I’d like to check it out fully.
I’ll probably ask more questions than provide answers but I can certainly share my experience. I’ve done IT for years but this new role is challenging and I need all the help I can get!
