    How tab grouping works in Chrome Canary

    Google has been working on adding tab grouping to the Chrome browser for some time. And this function can already be tested, although so far only in the version for developers Chrome Canary.

    Firstly you need to download and install the latest version of Chrome Ccanary. Then the algorithm of actions is as follows:

    -Go to chrome: // flags and activate grouping;
    -Open multiple web pages;
    -Right click on the first tab and select “Add to New Group”. A “Group 0” will be created;
    -To add tabs to the same group, right-click the tab and add the necessary elements to the existing group. Similarly, you can create a new group, which will be called “Group 1”.

    As noted, this feature will be useful for combining related websites, such as social networks or research topics, which will allow the user, for example, to close all tabs in a group at the same time. It also allows not only to collect tabs in groups, but also to save and synchronize the latter. All this is expected to solve the problem of transferring a large number of open sites from the device to the device.

    So far, it is not reported when a new feature will appear in the release. At the moment, the group is visually no different from the usual tab, so this has to be fixed. It’s noted that earlier Mozilla’s browser had similar functionality, however, due to its low popularity, it was removed from the main codebase and transferred to an extension. A similar plugin was for Chrome, but, as we see, here the development goes in the opposite direction – along the way of integration into the main program code.
