Today is the sysadmin day! I wonder if this day has any meaning. Does anyone in your organization recognize the sysadmin day? Did anyone thank you for your work?

It’s not a real surprise that no one remembered sysadmin day..
      (at least at my organisation..)

Then again, we do the kind of work that everyone remembers when something doesn’t work..   As long as it works, we’re invisible..

Being invisible is the problem, we love our work and hate bragging about it.. but it wouldn’t hurt to “sell” our small victories of crashes, security threats and ad hoc problems.

Yeah, it is like with mothers. Just that they get flowers on mother’s day. On the other hand, what would an admin do with flowers? 😉

One way to increase your visibility is to introduce new solutions that help solve problems in your organization. If you just keep things running nobody will notice you.
