Windows 7 RTM is now available on Technet and MSDN. It is time for every IT pro to learn about the new features. In this post, I have collected all 4sysops articles that review or discuss new Windows 7 features. You will also find tips on how to manage Windows 7. The first list gives you an overview of all the new features. The articles in the other categories describe a particular feature in more detail. Whenever I publish a new article about Window 7 in the coming weeks, I will update this page. If you think that an important feature is missing, please tell me!
- Pip install Boto3 - Thu, Mar 24 2022
- Install Boto3 (AWS SDK for Python) in Visual Studio Code (VS Code) on Windows - Wed, Feb 23 2022
- Automatically mount an NVMe EBS volume in an EC2 Linux instance using fstab - Mon, Feb 21 2022
I will also create a corresponding page for Windows Server 2008 R2. Articles that discuss Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will be included in both lists.
I’ve downloaded using the Akamai Download applet, and i’ve queued up Ultimate x86/x64 and Enterprise x64. All downloads are already finished.
Might make sense to restart your downloads using the Akamai applet.
Hmm why do you think that Akamai is faster than Microsoft File Transfer Manager?
I don’t think it is, i know.
In the company, with a 20/2 link from Cablecom Business, i’ve queued up using the Akamai applet:
Enterprise x64
Ultimate x64
Ultimate x86
WAIK
Langpacks
Was done roughly at 20:45, and i started at 19:10.
At home, with a 25/2.5 link from Cablecom, i’ve queued up using FTM:
Ultimate x64
Langpacks
WAIK
Ultimate is currently roughly 50% done. The langpacks and WAIK downloads haven’t even started yet.
Is the Akamai Download Manager free? Do you have a download link?
The Akamai applet is used automatically on the Top Downloads page:

Lukas Beeler, you are awesome. I went from 20kb/s using Microsoft’s download manager to 1.3MB/s using Akamai’s tool. I just wish it worked in Firefox instead of just IE.
Thanks for the tip! =)
