Ping Monitor Free can work in 24/7 mode to track connections states and calculate connections statistics. When connections are lost or restored, it can display messages in System Tray or send notifications by e-mail. Also it can execute custom actions on these events.

I just downloaded WinPing and PingInfoView, for a little contrast/comparison usage. EMCO Ping is a huge file, compared to the other two.

  2. Ronin, this is probably because it has more features. You have to consider that they also sell this product.

True. I plan on adding all three to my portable toolkit, using each as the occasion presents itself. As time goes by, I can eliminate two of the three, based on feature set and practical use.

  4. Actually, there are even more options. I will soon review Karen’s Net Monitor which is also a nice tool.

I’ve had Karen’s Net Monitor in my toolkit for some time now. Though it has not been updated since v3.6 (2008), I still use it from time to time.
