This is a great little tool for renaming your computer to anything from a command line/batch file. It can query your bios and get information like manufacturer, motherboard manufacturer, MAC addresses, but most importantly the serial number, and use that info as the name of your computer.
I used it in a batch file with ghost to rename any newly imaged, and SID walked, PC to the serial number then used NETDOM to rejoin the domain. Worked a treat!!! Didn’t fail yet on over a 1,000 builds
Enter compname.exe /? for more info.
what is this bringing over netdom?
