Paragon Backup and Recovery 2011 (Advanced) Free which has a unique (for a free app) feature of restoring backup images to smaller disk sizes (called geometry restore).
Also the good old SyncToy which I use for synchronization of backup folders.Latest version works fine with 2008R2 and can be set to run as a scheduled task without the user being logged on.
I’m looking to make backups of my new laptops (I rent them) so I can re-image them when they come back from a rental. What is the easiest and best option for this? Anyone?
SyncToy was one of the Windows XP PowerToys. It is used for file synchronization. The last version, 2.1, was released on 11-24-2009, and runs under Windows XP, Vista, and 7. It’s available in 32 and 64 bit versions from the Microsoft Download Center, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download. Version 2.1 seemed to have some stability problems compared to earlier versions but worked well enough.
