Microsoft released WSUS 3.0 SP1 RC. You can download it from Microsoft Connect now. You might be tempted to install it already on a productive server. However, I would recommend waiting for the release of the final version.
Certainly most interesting is the support for Windows Server 2008. But if you have no Windows Server 2008 machines in your network, it really makes sense to wait. Of course, WSUS 3.0 SP1 fixes a couple of bugs, but after skimming over the readme file, it seemed to me that this update might bring more problems than solutions at the moment.
The list of “issues” is quite long. My favorite is this one: “If synchronization fails, retry synchronization”. Well, yes… thanks for the advice. ![]()
