Anonymous Coward, the problem is that Microsoft says a lot, especially when it comes to “planned release dates”. I think that nobody at Microsoft is able to predict now when Windows 7 will really come out. They might plan it for 2009 and 2010, yes, but if they will be able to do it, is another story.

NipitMaster, you have a point there. However, do you think that someone with a CRT monitor would be able to produce such a fake?

Hmmmm. To me it looks like someone found out about Windows 7, got a RC of the Vista service pack 1, and hacked the pictures to say Windows 7 instead of Windows Vista, made this video and left the rest to speculation. Since Vista is windows version 6.0 wouldn't it make sense that it's service pack be 6.1?

I would think that anybody "in the know" to get a copy of Windows 7 wouldn't have a CRT monitor.

Microsoft says W7 will take 3 years to develop yet talk was - once Vista had RTM'd work would begin immediately on W7. Meaning a year after Vistas release and a bit under 2 years to go to late 2009, a W7 release is still possible despite the constant will-they won't-they rumours. 2010 is probably more realistic, but I have heard a med-large firm recently deploying new XP boxes, they may just sit and wait for W7 and have seemingly skipped over the underwhelming wow experience.
