Hi,

Wanted to know if its possible to convert physical server running linux to vm using VMware converter.
If not, please let me know if you are aware of any such softwares to do this.

Hi Chuck, I didn’t use VMware Converter anymore and I ran this test a year ago. I would be very careful with converting a DC. You might run into synchronization problems. Why don’t you just install an additional DC? By the way, did you notice that there is a beta of VMWare Converter 4 now?

Hello Michael,

I just read your posts about converting a physical server to a vm. We are about to start our own conversion using vm converter starter edition and wanted to know if you had any issues with it? We are converting our exchange and DC so we don’t want to risk any failures.
