Heads up for anybody installing DPM 2007 SP1.

I have just recently installed a clean server 2003 SP2 and DPM 2007 with SP1, and imediately got Error 207 An unexpected error occurred during a VSS operation when trying to create protection groups. After a day of searching for a fix I stumbled across a newsgroup post that was unrelated to my error but did give me an idea.

The fix for this error is to run the folowing line on you DPM server.

regsvr32 %windir%\System32\vss_ps.dll

Hope that helps.
